Case summary
A resident of Moscow, Krieger is a member of the Anti-War Action Committee and one of the founders of the Union of Solidarity with Political Prisoners. He has been a long-standing participant in various protest actions.
On 3 November 2022, his home was searched and he was detained. He was charged with public justification of terrorism due to a post concerning the explosion at the Arkhangelsk FSB building and the shooting near the FSB building in Moscow. On 5 November, the court placed him in custody. In December, additional charges of incitement to hatred with threats of violence were brought against him, related to an aggressive post about Chekists and a possible execution of Putin.
On 17 May 2023, Krieger was sentenced to seven years in a general-regime penal colony.
