Case summary

A resident of Teikovo (Ivanovo Oblast). On April 11, 2020, Lyamo's home was searched. He was charged with organising the activities of an extremist organisation, in connection with his involvement in the activities of the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Members of this community are prosecuted under extremist legislation solely for their religious activities: holding meetings, conducting worship services, and recruiting new supporters. Lyamo was released on recognisance not to leave the country. On February 29, 2024, he was sentenced to a fine of 1,100,000 rubles.
