Case summary
While on the territory of Ukraine, he assisted in administering the "Federalisation of Kuban" group on the VKontakte social network. A case on calls to violate territorial integrity was opened for reposting a picture showing a map of Kuban, a girl in a national costume with the Ukrainian flag and a caption stating that Ukrainians of Kuban want their region to join Ukraine. He was declared wanted, and an extradition request was filed. In January 2017, he was grantef political asylum from the Ukrainian authorities. On November 24, 2023, Lyubchenkov was removed from the list of extremists and terrorists of Rosfinmonitoring (The Federal Financial Monitoring Service of the Russian Federation).
