Case summary

A resident of St. Petersburg, Maltsev was subjected to a search and detained on March 7, 2022, in connection with a hooliganism case stemming from an anti-war protest. The protest involved burning an effigy dressed in camouflage, with a bag over its head and the inscription "Take away." On March 11, a court ordered his detention.

On September 26, 2022, Maltsev was sentenced to three years and eight months in a general-regime penal colony. He was released on parole on November 26, 2024.
