Case summary
She was detained in connection with a peaceful rally by Greenpeace activists who sailed on the Arctic Sunrise ship to the Prirazlomnaya oil production platform in the Pechora Sea in September 2013 to protest against the development of oil and gas fields on the Arctic shelf; the ship was forcibly stopped and all those on board were detained. She was charged with piracy and the charge was later reclassified to hooliganism. She was in custody from September 2013, was released on bail in November 2013 and was given amnesty in December 2013.
