Case summary
In the past, he was the head of the Main Department for the Development and Support of Material Support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and resigned from the armed forces in November 2024. He was prosecuted for spreading deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces, calls to terrorism and incitement to hatred. On 14 January 2025, Marchenko was sentenced in absentia to 14 years in prison.
