Case summary

Postgraduate student of the Alferov Academic University. In February 2023, he was taken into custody in a case of hooliganism and discrediting the army because of broken windows in the building of the military registration and enlistment office and anti-war inscriptions on the walls. At first it was reported that Mironov was charged with repeated discrediting of the army (part 1 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code), but later it became known that he was charged with discrediting the army with causing damage (part 2 of article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). On 12 July 2024, Mironov was sentenced to four years in a general regime penal colony. On 11 February 2025, the court of appeal reduced the sentence by eight months. On 2 July 2025, Mironov was released from the penal colony.
