According to the investigation, from 1 to 31 May 2022, Morozov, feeling a negative attitude towards the Russian Federation and the policy pursued by the authorities and top officials of the Russian Federation, i.e. on the grounds of political hatred, entered into a criminal conspiracy with Vladimir Konovalov to publicly, under the guise of reliable reports, disseminate among the convicts held in the general regime penal colony knowingly false information about the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation: he was to study the videos posted on Ukrainian news and propaganda channels, which contained knowingly false information about the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He managed to download and show two videos to his colony mates.

Full summary
The prisoner was serving a sentence in a high-security penal colony in the Pskov region, but it is not known for what case. A new case was initiated against him for spreading deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces: according to the investigation, together with another prisoner, he demonstrated some clips produced by Ukrainian channels in the colony. In December 2024, the case went to court. On 13 March 2025, Morozov was sentenced to five and a half years' in a strict regime penal colony, taking into account the unexecuted part of the previous term. On 14 May 2025, the appeals court increased the term to seven years'.
