Case summary
A journalist from Prokopyevsk. A case was brought against him for spreading knowingly false information about the Armed Forces. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of a prohibition on certain actions: in particular, Novashov was forbidden to use the telephone and the Internet. Later, the restrictions were tightened, prohibiting him from communicating with correspondents of Sibir.Realii and Taiga.info. On 6 March 2023, Novashov was sentenced to eight months of corrective labour. On 13 March 2024, Novashov was searched, reasons unknown. On 31 January 2025, Novashov was included in the register of "foreign agents".
