Case summary

A Ukrainian serviceman who took part in the incursion into Kursk Region, in western Russia. He was taken captive on 11 September 2024. A criminal case was opened against him on charges of participating in a terrorist act committed by a group of persons acting in prior conspiracy and resulting in grave consequences. According to the investigation, Ochimovskii and two other Ukrainian soldiers intimidated civilians, restricted their movement and fired at them. On 6 February 2025, he was sentenced to 15 years in a strict-regime penal colony.
