According to the investigation, around the 20th of May 2023, at about 13 hours. 00 min., on the regional road from the border with Ukraine Dzhankoy - Simferopol, Onuk found a black polymer bag without any markings, with the contents in the form of a rectangular object of orange-red colour with the inscription "TNT checker - 200", after which he suddenly "had a criminal intent aimed at the illegal acquisition, transportation, and storage of explosives and explosive devices". According to Onuk's own testimony, in May 2023, he was contacted by a person on Telegram who offered him to perform a task for 200,000 rubles and indicated that a package would be handed over to him at a certain place; later in the specified place, an unknown person driving by in a car left a package on the roadside. Onuk made sure that it contained a TNT checker and took it home. He received no money but was promised twice as much if he completed the second part of the task. Onuk refused. In addition, according to the investigation, Onuk, at about 4 a.m. on 17 July 2023, printed leaflets "with an obscene image of the State Emblem of the Russian Federation, namely: a monochrome black outline image of a two-headed eagle raising its wings upwards; the eagle is crowned with two small crowns and - above them - one large crown connected by ribbons; in the right paw of the eagle is a scepter, in the left - an orb, which is pierced by a stylised sword, the hilt of which is depicted in the form of a trident and a tamga, connected with each other", after which he pasted these leaflets on various buildings and objects in Simferopol (on the tower of the railway station of Simferopol, on public transport stops "Cosmos Cinema" and "6th City Hospital", on the building of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea, as well as on the fence of a military unit) with adhesive tape. Thus, he "gave the mentioned structures an indecent, offensive to public morality look" and "committed abuse of the symbol of the Russian Federation, i.e. the State Emblem of the Russian Federation." "Onuk N.N.'s criminal actions were of an immoral, cynical nature".
