Case summary

Resident of Togliatti. Worked as a speech therapist in a kindergarten. Initially, a case of vandalism motivated by political hatred was opened, but later it became known that the case also included charges of discrediting the Armed Forces, causing damage to property, and involving a minor in the commission of a crime by a criminal group motivated by political, ideological, racial, national or religious hatred. The Telegram channel "Emergency Samara" published a video in which Arbuzenko admits that he "committed a number of acts of vandalism" against "posters depicting servicemen of the Russian army who performed heroic deeds on the territory of Ukraine" in June-July on Voroshilov, Dzerzhinsky and Revolutionary streets, repents and apologises to those whose feelings he may have hurt. The man often stammered and looked down, as if forced to say a memorised text. Arbuzenko was taken into custody. On 11 May 2023, he was sentenced to six years in a general regime colony.
