Case summary
Born in Kharkiv region of Ukraine, moved to the Russian Federation in 2014, lived in Cherepovets. Industrial climber, house painter, worked at Severstal. A case of public justification of terrorism was brought against him because of aggressive comments under news about the war. In May 2025, Orlov was detained and then taken into custody. At his trial, he explained that he left the comments after his grandmother was killed by a shell burst in November 2023. On 29 August 2025, Orlov was sentenced to three years in a general regime penal colony.
