Case summary
Former editor-in-chief of the "Novii Vizit" website from Henichesk (Kherson region, Ukraine). Detained in March 2024 and taken into custody on charges of participation in an illegal armed group in connection with the Crimean Tatar Volunteer Battalion named after Noman Chelebidzhikhan. On 15 August 2024, Osmak was sentenced to three years and two months in a strict regime colony. On 6 November 2024, the court of appeal cancelled the sentence and returned the case to the first-instance court. Osmak was later re-sentenced, details are unknown, and it appears that it was not the same court that handed down the first sentence.
