Case summary

On 11 August 2023, Ostrovsky received a three-year suspended sentence for hooliganism following a clash with young people reportedly holding right-wing views. There are insufficient grounds to consider this prosecution political. He was later detained in Moscow on 5 June 2024 in connection with a case against the Antifa United movement, accused of creating an extremist community. The case went to court in August 2025. On 11 September 2025, it was reported that Ostrovsky had died.
