Case summary
A resident of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Petrov had worked with regional politicians. According to the "Kamchatka Life" publication, from 2020 to 2024 he lived in Moscow, where he was employed as a technical specialist by some company. A criminal case was opened against him for calls to terrorism over his comment from August 2020, in which he suggested giving a Covid vaccine to the "Kremlin's Kashchei" in the hopes that the virus would take him away. On 8 January 2025, Petrov was taken into custody. In October 2025, Telegram channel "Astra" reported that Petrov was also charged with high treason.
