According to the investigation, on 17 July 2023, he arrived at the assembly point of the terrorist organisation - the Ukrainian paramilitary nationalist formation Azov - where he voluntarily agreed to participate in its activities. After that, he underwent training as part of a general military training programme, during which he acquired knowledge, practical skills, and experience through physical and psychological training, as well as instruction in the handling of weapons, explosive devices, and explosives. Later, while stationed in combat positions located within the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic, the defendant supported the activities of the said terrorist organisation, serving as a driver in the engineering and positioning section of the special forces battalion’s engineer-sapper platoon.
