Case summary
On 25 November 2018, he was detained when Russian vessels blocked Ukrainian vessels in the Black Sea near Crimea. He was taken into custody on charges of illegally crossing the Russian border, transferred to the Lefortovo pre-trial detention centre on 29 November. On 7 September 2019, he was released as part of the exchange of Ukrainian political prisoners in the Russian Federation for a group of people released by Ukraine and arrived at the territory of Ukraine.
