In November 2013, it became known that a case had been opened against people involved in the activities of the Novosibirsk cell of the 'Tablighi Jamaat' organisation. On November 5, Rakhmanov was detained during a meeting in a flat with 15 other suspects and was charged with participation in the activities of an extremist organisation.
