According to the investigation, in June 2018, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the "Aidar" assault battalion. First, he underwent training in Lviv region, gaining skills in handling weapons and firearms combat. In the unit he performed the duties of a mortar gunner of the 1st separate tank brigade "Severskaya" with the rank of senior sergeant. He directly participated in combat operations on the territory of the "DNR".
