Case summary

Resident of Irkutsk region, coordinator of the Anti Pytki project, which reports on prisoners' rights violations and publishes data of convicts who co-operate with prison guards. He migrated to France. No later than June 2024, the FSB of the Sverdlovsk region conducted operational search activities in connection with Rugevich's alleged involvement in the activities of an extremist community. On 30 October 2024, it became known about a criminal case initiated in connection with the activities of the project, searches took place in several regions, and several people were taken into custody. On 6 December 2024, Rugevich was banned from leaving Russia.
