Case summary
On 6 September 2023, a search came to Shchenkov's house. Initially it was reported that a case of calls to extremism was brought against him, but later it became known that it was a case of public justification of terrorism. After the search, Shchenkov was offered to appear at the local office himself. He was later taken into custody. On 15 February 2024, Shchenkov was sentenced to a fine of 450 thousand rubles, reducing the amount to 300 thousand rubles, taking into account the time spent in custody.
