Case summary

He is a former serviceman who served in the Special Forces Rocket Forces. In 2023, he learnt that he had been contracted without his knowledge. Shchetko challenged the contract signing through the military prosecutor's office. As he later recounted, he was against the war. In September 2023, he filed a discharge report. However, in November, Shchetko was told they were sending him to an assault battalion. He left Russia. A case of desertion was opened against him.
