Case summary

A native of the Zaporizhzhya region of Ukraine. A case was opened against him for dissemination of knowingly false information about Russian Armed Forces and public justification of terrorism. The first charge is related to a comment posted on the day of Yevgeniy Prigozhin's mutiny that one of the Russian army formations was on its way from the combat zone to Moscow. The second charge is related to comments in which law enforcers saw calls for an assassination attempt on Putin.

On 27 January 2026, the court sentenced Shevchenko to seven years in a general regime colony.
