Case summary
A resident of Irkutsk region, a mathematician. On 20 June 2023, he was detained after a search in connection with a case of public justification of terrorism due to of two publications, one of which is dedicated to the air strike on the strategic bomber airfield in Engels in December 2022. Shibaev was released on his own recognisance. However, he was later taken into custody. Presumably, after the case was sent to trial, Shibaev was released from custody. On 19 January 2024, he was sentenced to four years in a general regime colony.
