Case summary

On February 24, 2022, Smetankina was detained for an anti-war banner in the office of the local urban planning research institute where she worked as an architect; the next day, the court fined her 20 thousand rubles. Smetankina was fired from her job. In early March, Smetankina was searched for a case of false reporting of mines, she was detained but later released under an obligation to appear. She was also detained when exiting her house on March 12, 2022, shortly after the searches on the criminal case. She was charged with violation of the established procedure for arranging a public event and disobedience to the lawful demand of a police officer.
