Case summary
Loader from St. Petersburg, originally from the settlement of Gadzhievo, Murmansk Region. In April 2024, he was detained in a case of deliberately spreading false information about the Russian Armed Forces, calls for extremism, and justification of terrorism because of his posts on social networks about the war in Ukraine. On 25 April, the man was taken into custody.
The charge of military "fakes" was related to a post that began with the words "After yesterday's massive bombardment"; calls to extremism were imputed to Sorokin because of the post with the "Memo on desertion" and justification of terrorism because of posts about the activities of the Azov regiment, the Russian Volunteer Corps, and the Freedom of Russia Legion.
On 17 October 2025, Sorokin was sentenced to eight years in a general regime colony.
