Case summary

Resident of Sochi. On 18 August 2021, Suvorov was searched and detained. Later, the court decided to take him into custody as part of a case of involvement in the activities of an extremist organisation due to his involvement in the Jehovah's Witnesses community. Representatives of this community are prosecuted under extremist articles solely for religious activities: meetings, joint worship services, attracting new supporters. In April 2022, Suvorov was also accused of participating in the activities of an extremist organisation. On 20 June 2023, Suvorov was sentenced to six years in a general regime colony. On 7 April 2026, he was released.
