According to the investigation, in June 2024, holding anti-Russian views and criticizing the conduct of the Russian army’s special military operation, she gave an interview to one of the internet channels in which she made a public statement containing remarks that fostered hostile and hateful attitudes toward Russians and justified and endorsed the need to commit violent acts against Russians. In addition, from April to September 2025, knowing that she had been twice held administratively liable during the year for violating the regulations governing foreign agents, she willfully failed to submit reports on her activities to the Russian Ministry of Justice.

Full summary
An actress who opposed the war and left Russia. In November 2023, she was added to the register of “foreign agents.” In July 2024, it became known that a case had been opened against her under an extremism article—possibly related to inciting hatred due to an interview on the YouTube channel of Novaya Gazeta Europe. Later, the Investigative Committee reported that she was accused of inciting hatred against Russians. In October 2025, the case went to court, and it was revealed that Troyanova was also charged with publicly justifying terrorism and evading her duties as a “foreign agent.”
On 13 November 2025, Troyanova was sentenced in absentia to 8 years' imprisonment.
