Case summary

Student of the Komsomol College of Technology and Service. In custody on charges of undergoing training for terrorist activities because of a video in a Telegram channel showing teenagers throwing Molotov cocktails at the wall of an abandoned building, and participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation - according to the investigation, he was involved in the activities of the Azov battalion. Later it became known that this article was not included in the case, and Turlaev was charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation and calls for terrorism.

The grandmother of another defendant in the case, Valeriy Zaitsev, suggested that the case was opened as a result of provocation: a certain person, who later appeared in court as a secret witness, filmed a video with throwing Molotov cocktails, which became the reason for opening the case.

On 13 November 2024, Turlaev was sentenced to 11 years in a strict-regime colony.
