On August 11 and September 23, 2009, she collected information about instances of Russian Federation Black Sea Fleet ships carrying out combat duty in the territorial waters of Abkhazia. Subsequently, she transmitted information constituting state secrets by sending SMS messages to her acquaintance in Georgia, who served on the border.

Full summary
She was arrested on 25 October 2013. During the preliminary investigation, she was forced to sign a confession because the investigator and the lawyer appointed by him convinced her that the mere fact of sending an SMS to a citizen of another country has already constituted a treason. She was not given the opportunity to choose a qualified lawyer, and her relatives were intimidated. On 3 July 2014, she was sentenced to six years in a penal colony.
On 16 November 2017, the Supreme Court reduced Tutisani's sentence to four years and one month. On 30 November, Tutisani was released from prison.
