Full wording of the charges
The case of dissemination of deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces was initiated due to Ushakov's posts "with signs of convincing the addressee in the negative nature of the purposes of the use of the Russian Armed Forces", in particular, about the strikes on a maternity hospital in Mariupol. The case of public justification of terrorism, was initiated presumably due to Ushakov's statements about the war in Chechnya and the actions of Russian security forces in the Caucasus, in which he had made comparisons between separatists and security forces not in favour of the latter. The case of desecration of symbols of military glory and insulting veterans was initiated due to Ushakov's statements about the St George's ribbon being awarded to Russian Liberation Army’s soldiers who had fought on the side of Hitler's Germany, as well as his rude remarks about veterans of the Great Patriotic War. The case of incitement to hatred was initiated due to Ushakov's rude and derogatory statements about Russians.

Full summary
Ushakov was the administrator of the Telegram channel True Crime. He wrote under the name of Denis Evsyukov. By the time a "fakes" case was initiated against Ushakov, a case of public justification of terrorism had already been brought against him. As part of that case, he was allegedly detained on 14 December 2022. Initially it was reported that Ushakov was charged under Part 1, Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code, but later it became known that he had been charged with spreading deliberately false information about the Armed Forces with the motive of political hatred (Paragraph D Part 2, Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). Ushakov is also accused of incitement to hatred (Paragraph A Part 2, Article 282 of the Criminal Code) and rehabilitation of Nazism (Part 4, Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). During the trial, Ushakov said that he had been tortured by electrocution while in detention. On 29 June 2023, he was sentenced to eight years in a general regime penal colony. On 27 October, the court of appeal reduced the sentence by two months.
