Case summary

Resident of Khabarovsk Krai. He is originally from Ukraine, where his daughter lives. The programmer Sergei Irin, who was in the same pre-trial detention centre with him and was convicted on charges of high treason, said that Vechirko's daughter was almost killed in a bombing in Vinnytsia. He was detained in May 2023 on charges of high treason. According to Irin, Vechirko's phone was tapped and his words to his daughter that the money he transferred to her after the bombing should be "sent to something useful" were interpreted by the investigation as an instruction to send the money to the needs of the AFU. On 10 March 2025, Vechirko was sentenced to 13 years in a strict regime colony.
