Case summary
An oncologist from St. Petersburg and an employee of the N.N. Petrov National Medical Research Centre for Oncology. On 2 July 2025, he was detained in a case involving public calls for terrorism over Telegram comments. Experts allegedly found signs of incitement "to execute political figures of the Russian Federation by hanging" in his posts. The Rotunda media outlet reported that the comments referred to the Russian leadership. Voshchinin was taken into custody the following day. On 3 February 2026, he was sentenced to five and a half years in a general regime penal colony.
