Case summary

Resident of the town of Nizhniye Sergi in the Sverdlovsk Region. He had previous convictions for murder, causing grievous bodily harm, and causing bodily harm of medium severity. A case was brought against him for publicly justifying terrorism, based on his words “Well done, kid” about Ruslan Zinin, who shot a military officer. Yakovlev was detained on 5 February 2025. In April 2025, the case went to court. On 13 November 2025, Iakovlev was sentenced to six years in a strict regime colony.
