According to the investigation, from late February - early March 2022, she started watching videos in pro-Ukrainian TG-channels, other messengers and social networks, directed against the actions of Russian military personnel, as well as calling for the financing of units of the armed forces of Ukraine. In December 2023, she obtained citizenship of the Russian Federation, but decided to transfer the funds remaining on her virtual bank card "PrivatBank" to the needs of the AFU. From December 2023 to May 2024, the woman made six transfers via the Privat24 mobile application to Ukrainian volunteers and military personnel totalling UAH 2,949.96, which is equivalent to RUB 6,999.45.

Resident of Energodar (Zaporizhzhya region of Ukraine). She worked in a cosmetics shop. In April 2025, she was detained and then placed in custody. Later it became known that a case of high treason was opened against her in connection with the transfer of money for the needs of the AFU. In September 2025, Yakunina was sentenced to 14 years in a general regime colony.
