On 19th of May, 2015, he was detained (according to his wife, force was used against him and her) and on 20th of May he was arrested together with three other people charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation, "Hizb-ut-Tahrir". On 5th of April, 2017, he was sentenced to 17 years in a strict regime penal colony
