According to the official report identifying signs of a criminal offence, the reason for the prosecution was a comment posted in the “Chat of the Freedom of Russia Movement.” The message read: “The white-blue-white banner / Will be raised / Not for thirty cursed coins / And not for awards / I salute the soldiers in the trenches / To the people with the leaflet. / The system of dictate will be dead. / The Legion ‘Freedom of Russia’ will send it a funeral notice! Legion ‘Freedom of Russia’! Legion ‘Freedom of Russia’! Legion ‘Freedom of Russia’!” An expert assessment concluded that this comment amounted to a justification of the activities of the Legion “Freedom of Russia,” an organisation designated as terrorist.

Full summary
A resident of Samara. On 11 September 2024, a search took place at his home. Iushkov claims that he was beaten. A case of public justification of terrorism was opened against him because of his comment that appeared to be an endorsement of the activities of the Freedom of Russia Legion. Iushkov gave a recognisance not to leave. He was able to leave Russia, after which he was put on a wanted list. After Iushkov's departure, his mother was questioned twice by the FSB, and her home was searched. On 4 December 2024, law enforcers checked the contents of the woman's smartphone and demanded that she not communicate with her son. Iushkov requested political asylum in France.
