Case summary

Resident of Naberezhnye Chelny. He was detained on 23 November 2021 and taken into custody on 25 November. He was accused of organising the activities of an extremist organisation. According to the investigation, he was one of the leaders of the cell of the organisation "Nurdzhular", the existence of which, according to experts, has not been proven. In fact, the reason for the prosecution was the joint study of the works of the Turkish theologian Said Nursi.

On 8 June 2022, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan reported that the case had been referred to court. On 13 March 2023, Agaev was sentenced to two and a half years in a general regime colony. Presumably, he was released in August 2023.
