Case summary

Akhmedov, along with the other defendants, Sageyev and Agayev, was detained on 23 November and arrested on 25 November 2021. The two defendants were sent to pre-trial detention centre, Akhmedov was under house arrest.

On 8 June 2022, the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee for the Republic of Tatarstan reported about the transfer of the case to the court. The prosecution asked to sentence the defendants to eight, seven and five years' imprisonment. All three pleaded not guilty, and their lawyers insisted on their acquittal.

On 13 March 2023, the Naberezhnye Chelny City Court passed a verdict; Akhmedov received a one-year six-month suspended sentence.
