Case summary
He was detained in connection with a peaceful action of Greenpeace activists who sailed on the Arctic Sunrise ship to the Prirazlomnaya oil production platform in the Pechora Sea to protest against the development of oil and gas fields on the Arctic shelf in September 2013. The ship was forcibly stopped and all those on board were detained. Denis was charged with piracy, the charge was later reclassified to hooliganism. Detained since September 2013, released on bail in November 2013. Amnestied in December 2013
