Case summary

Detained on 11 February 2016 during mass searches and detentions in Crimea. Arrested on suspicion of participation in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir, an organisation banned as terrorist. In July 2016, he was placed in a special block of the pre-trial detention centre as a "dangerous person under investigation". In January 2017, he was also accused of preparing for a violent seizure of power.

On 12 November 2019, he was sentenced to 19 years in a strict regime colony.

In January 2020, it became known that Aliyev was placed in a special block in pre-trial detention centre No. 3 in Rostov region.
