On 18 April 2016, detained after a search, interrogated by the FSB and the next day placed under arrest on charges of participation in the activities of a terrorist organisation ("Hizb ut-Tahrir"). On 12 November 2019, sentenced to eight years in a strict regime colony. He was released on 17 April 2024.
