Case summary
On 11 October 2017 he was detained after a search, charged with participation in the activities of a cell of a terrorist organisation, and arrested on 12 October. In February 2019, he was also charged with preparation for violent seizure of power.
16 September 2020 acquitted by the court and released. On 15 March 2022, the court of appeal reversed the decision and sent Ametov's case for review. On 12 May, Ametov was again taken into custody. On 29 December, he was sentenced to 11 years in a strict regime penal colony.
