Case summary

On 12 June 2018, he was detained after a search, arrested on June 14 on charges of organising activities of an extremist organisation. On 20 May 2019, he was released from the pre-trial detention centre, a preventive measure in the form of ban on certain actions was selected.

On September 20, he was sentenced to three and a half years in a general regime colony.

On 15 May 2020, it became known that Bazhenov's Russian citizenship was revoked. On 5 May 2021, he was released on parole, but immediately detained for deportation to Ukraine. On May 19, he was deported.
