He was taken into custody on charges of organising the activities of a terrorist organisation and preparation for the violent seizure of power in connection with involvement in the activities of the Islamic party "Hizb ut-Tahrir". On 26 November 2025, Bekirov was sentenced to 15 years in a strict regime colony.
