Case summary
Crimean Tatar, Muslim, civil activist. He went to trials of Crimean Tatars, covered the trials on social media. In 2012, the court arrested him for ten days on charges of "propaganda of symbols or paraphernalia of extremist organisations". The ground was a social media post made by Krosh in February 2012. On 11 August 2022, Krosh's home was searched. He was placed in custody on charges of organising the activities of a terrorist organisation and preparation for a coup in connection with alleged involvement in the Islamist party Hizb ut-Tahrir, which has nothing to do with terrorism. It is reported that he was tortured while being taken from Dzhankoi to Simferopol. On 26 November 2025, Krosh was sentenced to 19 years in a strict regime colony.
