Case summary

He is a former coordinator of Navalny's headquarters in Arkhangelsk.

On April 30, 2019, he was detained as part of a criminal case for repeated violations of the procedure for organising public events. The court decided on a measure of restraint in the form of a ban on attending mass events, using means of communication to organise them, as well as communicating with participants of the anti-trash rally held on April 7, in Arkhangelsk.

On September 27, he was sentenced to 400 hours of compulsory labour.

On July 3, 2020, the court rejected the request of the penal inspectorate, which sought to replace Borovikov's compulsory labour with imprisonment.

On September 27, 2020, a search was conducted in Borovikov's apartment. He was accused of posting a video clip for the song "Pussy" by the Rammstein band on his VKontakte page on January 19, 2014. On September 29, Borovikov was placed under travel restrictions.

On April 29, 2021, he was sentenced to two and a half years in a penal colony. On July 15, the appellate court reduced the sentence to two years and three months. On February 1, 2022, the cassation court overturned the decision of the appellate court and returned the case to the appellate stage. On April 1, the appellate court upheld its previous decision. On March 7, 2023, Borovikov was placed under two years of administrative supervision.
