Case summary
Eco-activist, politician, leader of the movements "Ecological Defence of the Moscow Region" and in defence of the Khimki Forest, participant of the "Free Russia Forum". In February 2024, she was included in the List of Extremists and Terrorists of Rosfinmonitoring with the marking given to people prosecuted under terrorist articles. On 24 April 2024, Chirikova was arrested in absentia on charges of participating in the activities of a terrorist community, calling for terrorism and organising terrorist activities. On 16 July 2024, a case was opened against Chirikova for disseminating deliberately false information about the Russian Armed Forces, details unknown. On 2 November 2024, the Investigative Committee reported that a case was opened against Chirikova for public justification of terrorism. On 22 November, Chirikova's parents were searched.
