Case summary
On July 27, 2019, he was detained during the dispersal of a rally for fair elections. Later, the court fined him under an administrative article for violating the procedure for holding public events. On August 28, Chirtzov was detained in Minsk, he was informed that he was wanted in connection with the action on July 27. On August 30, Chirtzov was sent by plane to Moscow. On the night of September 2, he was detained and on the same day taken into custody by court order on charges of using violence against government officials.
On December 6, he was sentenced to a year in a general regime colony. Sent to a colony pending consideration of the appeal. On April 13, 2020, the appellate court reduced the term to 11 months and decided to release Chirtsov. On April 20, Chirtzov was released.
